How To Create A Wordpress Theme

A powerful tool in any designer’s toolbox is the ability to quickly and efficiently transform their work into a Wordpress template. This ability can be used for design work intended for public release, for client’s who’d like a Wordpress blog integrated with their existing design, or simply for your own use.

I started working with Wordpress a little over 2 years ago and decided to write a tutorial as I broke new ground, knowing that one of the most effective ways for me to learn was to share with others, thus encouraging me to make sure that I understood the subject myself. The result of that was a tutorial for Wordpress 1.5 which you can find after a quick google for any form of “wordpress integration”.

Now, 2 years and a whole lot more experience later, I’ve finished work on a second tutorial on creating a Wordpress theme from scratch which I’m happy to share with you guys in the hopes of encouraging designers to give it a try and to get feedback/suggestions so that I can continue to improve and reach my object of Wordpress mastery.
